The Story
Picture this-everything around you all of a sudden disappeared. There was nothing in sight but darkness. This is what the Nothing left behind it, nothing. There was just darkness everywhere. The Nothing was destroying all of Fantasia’s land. The Neverending Story was written by Michael Ende and directed by Wolfgang Peterson. The Neverending Story is about a world that’s powered by imagination. As the people lose imagination the more powerful the Nothing gets. So it is good to stay imaginative; you never know what it could affect.
To begin with The Nothing is a thing that destroyed the world Fantasia, eating the entire planet except for a small grain of sand. Everyone together could have stopped the Nothing together. If everyone worked together they could have figured out what was wrong with the child-Like Empress. Instead they all just let The Nothing eat their land and people. The Nothing was the most powerful thing and nothing could stop it except for one special little boy. He saved a little bit of Fantasia, by being creative and giving the Empress a name.
In addition all of the characters were very interesting and all had their own personalities. In different movies all of the characters seem to have the same personalities. Atrayu is brave and could do anything he sets his mind too. Nighthub was a very curious and has a unique characteristic acting ecstatic and precise in movements. Morla, the ancient turtle, had a stubborn characteristic that made him/her a very annoying character to watch. Bastion had a very life like characteristic. He could think and do heroic deeds just as Atrayu however he just needed to find out that on his own. All of the characters had a different one and that helped make it a great film.
Another thing is about everything that helped Atrayu. There were a lot of things that helped him through the troubles that he encountered along the way. The Luck Dragon whose name was Falkor helped Atrayu out the most by flying him all over Fantasia. Falkor helped Atrayu after Morla, who is an ancient turtle, helped Atrayu by telling him where to find what he was looking for. The most helpful was The Southern Oracle who told Atrayu what the Child-like Empress needed to be cured of her illness.
Finally this movie was really good because of all of the characters. The Nothing was a good idea to use as a thing that was getting rid of everything. It made me understand that everyone could be like a nothing, just a plain old person going to school sit listen not being interested in anything else. Everyone was just blank, blank expressions and blank everything. So that is why people and the world should always think and act imaginatively; it could affect everything!
